Auckland's Heritage re-imagined
Rudyard Kipling described Auckland as 'Last. Loneliest. Loveliest. Exquisite. Apart'. This walking tour introduces people to one of the world's most unique cities, which the indigenous Māori called Tāmaki Makaurau - 'the placed desired by many'. Starting at the harbourside we walk uptown, exploring the historical narrative contained within the central city valley. We encounter insights into natural history, pre-European and colonial settlement through the cityscape, its geography, architecture and public art.
This tour is extremely popular with both domestic and international travellers, as well as with educational groups at all levels, and can be tailored to fit many needs.
