This tour follows the maritime history of a city that was settled and built by a succession of seafaring people.
Following the changing shoreline, we uncover sites of Maori settlement, survey the Victorian waterfront, consider the effects of maritime trade and the city's marine industries, and celebrate New Zealand's successes in sport and on the water.
This 2-hour walk starts outside the iSite Auckland Visitor Information Centre, 188 Quay Street and winds its way via the Viaduct Harbour area to the Wynyard Quarter and the North Wharf precinct and finishes in Te Komititanga Square, lower Queen Street, outside the Waitematā Train Station.
